Ghana WC qualifiers opponents South Africa to play Uganda and Botswana in friendlies next month

Ghana's group opponents in the World Cup qualifiers South Africa are in talks with Uganda and Botswana for international friendlies next month.

Africa's World Cup qualifiers for June have been postponed to the next international break in November due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Both South Africa and Ghana are taking advantage of the break to engage in international friendlies.

South Africa named former Cameroon coach Hugo Broos as their new coach and will use the games against Uganda and Botswana to access his team.

Meanwhile, Ghana coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor could use this opportunity to send scouts to watch their main rivals ahead of the qualifiers.

The Black Stars edged South Africa to qualify for the Nations Cup in 2022, after defeating them in Cape Coast and picking a valuable point in Johannesburg.

Ghana has arranged a double friendly against Morocco and Ivory Coast next month as part of preparations for the upcoming international assignments later this year.
