Ghana youngster Christian Atsu admits it would be quite difficult to secure a move away from FC Porto.

The 20-year-old was farmed out on loan with Rio Ave last season to gain regular first team action where he finished the campaign as the club’s best player.

He has however been recalled by his mother club after his loan spell with the Big River expired.

And although Atsu earlier stated his desire to quit the Dragao in search of constant first team opportunities, he concedes it could be a tough ask especially with a hefty buy-out clause on his remaining two-year contract with Porto.

“I have two years more contract with Porto and my buy-out clause is very big and it so will be very difficult for me to move to another club,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“I really like to play in Porto which is my dream and it is very important for me because I grew up with Porto U-19 and I know how to play their style of football so it is very important for me to play in Porto.”

Atsu adds getting frozen out of a team’s first team is part of a footballer’s life with the most important thing being how such a situation is handled.

“It is something that happens in life and you don’t have to be disappointed with anything that happens,” he said.

“What you have to do is to continue to encourage yourself because if you feel disappointed then you are being ignorant so you have to continue to work hard.”
