Ghana winger Christian Atsu came off the Everton bench to mark his English Premier League debut as the Toffees shared the spoils with Arsenal in a 2-2 stalemate at the Goodison Park on Saturday evening.

The 22-year-old Chelsea loanee entered the game in the 84th minute, replacing Belgian international Kevin Mirallas but his influence was just limited to cameo role though Arsenal equalised Everton's 2-1 lead before his entry.

The Toffees suffered a cruel late blow as Coleman and Naismith's efforts are levelled by Ramsey and Giroud at the death.

Atsu joined Everton a fortnight ago on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea but could not make a debut in the 2-2 draw at Leicester City.

The former FC Porto starlet was expected to garner enough playing time this weekend after scoring twice in a reserves game for the Toffees but manager Roberto Martinez started him from the bench.

Everton have picked up two points from their opening two games of the campaign.
