Black Stars winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei will play against his VfL Bochum teammate Takuma Asano when Ghana plays Japan on Friday.

The pair are close friends at Bochum but will part their relationship aside when they face each other in the Kirin Cup.

Antwi-Adjei was invited for Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the Kirin Cup tournament, but missed the games against Madagascar and the Central African Republic.

He is expected to star in the game against Japan on Friday before the next match which will be against the winner of the match between Chile and Tunisia.

The former Paderborn player could use the opportunity to justify his inclusion to the Black Stars team ahead of the FIFA World Cup later this year.

Meanwhile, Antwi-Adjei and Takuma Asano have been handed extra days off by Bochum, who will begin pre-season in the next few weeks.

Antwi-Adjei scored a goal in 25 Bundesliga appearances for Bochum.
