Ghana winger Joseph Painstil makes Belgium Team of the Week after netting a brace in Genk's win

In-form Ghana winger Joseph Painstil has been named in the Belgium Pro League Team of the Week following his brace heroics in Genk's victory on Saturday.

The 24-year-old scored twice as the former Belgium champions walloped KAS Eupen 4-2 at the Cegeka Arena.

Painstil was in devastating form over the weekend, making him unplayable against Eupen, who stunned champions Club Brugge last week.

It's the first time Painstil is making the Team of the Week in the new season.

The former Tema Youth forward has featured in all three games this season, starting from the bench on the opener against Club Brugge. He was named in the starting eleven against Standard Liege, where he provided an assist in the 3-1 victory.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Painstil needed to score two quick-fire goals in the first minutes to hand Genk an early advantage.

Smail Prevljak pulled one back for KAS Eupen but Patrik Hrosovsky restored the two-goal lead before halftime.

After the break, Charles-Cook pulled one back for KAS Eupen before Mike Tresor Ndayishimiye sealed victory in the final minute.

Painstil was also named Man of the Match after the game.
