Ghana international defender Daniel Opare marked his debut for FC Porto in their 6-2 thrashing of Dutch side VVV Venlo in a pre-season warm-up friendly on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old was introduced by manager Julen Lopetegui as a 54th minute replacement for Danilo and he overly impressed at his favourite right-back role.

Porto enjoyed a landslided victory over the Dutch lower-tier side with goals from new loan signing Cristian Tello, Eduardo, Recardo and Josue at the SV Vernay in Holland before 2000 fans.

Opare signed for Porto as a free agent after seeing out his contract with Belgian giants Standard Liege and joined his new team-mates few days after spending holidays after the World Cup.
