Ghana's World Cup heroes will touch down in Accra on Monday night without stalwart central defender John Mensah as reported on his personal website.
Mensah, who wore the captain's armband in all of Ghana's matches, sought permission from team officials to go for his family in the UK.
He earned rave reviews for his performance at the World Cup after battling injuries last season at English Premier League side Sunderland.
Mensah wants his loan spell with the Black Cats to be made permanent although the Olympique Lyon player has received offers from other French clubs.
