Ghanaian attacker Karim Bellarabi announced his return to Bayer Leverkusen with a strike in their 5-1 thrashing of German lower-tier side Jena in a pre-season warm-up friendly on Sunday afternoon.

The 24-year-old restored the lead for Sascha Lewandowski's side with a trademark fantastic finish in the 26th minute before Robert Hilbert, Yurchenko and Brasnic scored to seal the win for the Bundesliga giants.

Bellarabi was farmed out to relegated Eintracht Braunschweig last season and impressed last, attracting interest from English suitors and other stellar clubs.

Despite the interest, new manager Lewandowski' is keen to take a look at the attacker and his goal on Sunday afternoon would go down as a prove of his sharpness.

He scored thrice in 26 games, providing four assists in the process.
