Ghanaian boxer Patrick Allotey appeared before the police for the first time on Thursday since he was captured in a video assaulting a fan during the Hearts of Oak versus Asante Kotoko match last Sunday.

Allotey, who had been on the police wanted list, turned himself in for the investigation to commence.

He arrived at the Ministries Police Station in the company of his manager.

However, he was transferred to the Accra regional police command as the case had been moved there.

The CID in charge took his side of the story and later put him in handcuffs for a few hours before he was granted bail.

In the video circulating on social media, the boxer is seen delivering three quick stiff jabs to the face of the fan, whose name has been given as Michael Siaw.

According to him, he was just celebrating when his team, Kotoko scored contrary to local reports that he provoked the boxer.

WBO Africa Super welterweight champion, Patrick Allotey has expressed regret over his actions.
