English-born Ghanaian midfielder Cameron Antwi has signed his first professional contract with English side Blackpool.

The 18-year-old has been rewarded with the professional contract after an excellent season with the Blackpool U-18 team.

Antwi started his career at Fulham before joining the Seasiders in the summer of 2019, where he has since gone on to flourish in the development squad.

His performances caught the attention of Blackpool head coach Neil Critchley who advised the club to offer him a professional contract.

They offered him a one-year contract with an option for a further season which he has signed.

He will link up with Neil Critchley’s first-team squad ahead of the 2020/21 season.

The 18-year-old is one of the highly-rated teenagers in the English youth leagues. He has been compared to legendary Ghanaian footballer Michael Essien because of his similar style to the former Chelsea star.

He holds both English and Ghanaian passports but is yet to be capped by any of these countries at the international level.
