Former Black Galaxies assistant coach, Bismark Kobby Mensah, has cautioned the Black Stars against playing the blame game following their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Mensah emphasised that honest introspection and proper preparation are key to the team's success, particularly with the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on the horizon.
"We need to have a honest assessment without blame games on why we did not qualify for the AFCON so that we can correct the wrong things and prepare well for the World Cup qualifiers," Mensah said in an interview with Asempa FM.
The Black Stars are currently second in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers with nine points and will face Chad in their next qualifying match in March 2025.
Mensah remains optimistic about Ghana's chances of qualifying for their fifth World Cup, but stressed that the team must learn from their AFCON setback and prepare diligently for the challenges ahead.
