Ghanaian defender Abraham Frimpong captains Hungarian champions Ferencváros in Ujpest win

Ghanaian defender Abraham Frimpong captained Hungarian giants Ferencvaros over the weekend to victory as they celebrated their league triumph in front of 15,000 fans. 

Th powerful centre-back was handed the armband, 25 minutes after replacing Gergo Lovrencsics  and led from the back as Ferencvaros beat Ujpest 1-0 at the Groupama Arena.

Franck Boli scored the only goal of the gamein the 53rd minute.

The home side had the opportunity of celebrating the league triumph in front of their 15,000 fans after the lifting of restrictions in Hungary.

Ferencvaros wrapped up their 31st league title last week after beating rivals Honved Budapest to make it back to back league triumphs.

Frimpong has been instrumental for the Green and Whites since joining from Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade, making 18 appearances this season.

The 27-year old has won back to back league titles with the club and has exhibited leadership qualities making him an important member of manager Serhiy Rebrov's side.

Ferencvaros will represent Hungary in the UEFA Champions League next season.
