Ghana defender Jacob Akrong produced another defensive masterclass as Atletico Zacatepec held on to a goalless draw against Alebrijes of Oaxaca in the Mexican Ascenso MX league.

The defender, who scored his first goal of the season to earn Zacatepec a point in the game against Caleya has become an important member of the club following his impressive displays.

Akrong played the entire duration and provided steel in the defense of Zacatepec, who held on to settle for  a point in the game.

Zacatepec are sixth on the Ascensco MX league table and remain unbeaten in their last four games.

The Ghanaian defender is happy with the way his side have started the season and hopes to help them win more games this season.

"I feel very well and excited, having brought us a visitor point was important; we have three games without losing, we have to continue like this and hope to win at home,"said the defender.

"We are going to make our game and soccer, we are not going to worry about our opponents, we have to make good football to get the three points, "added the player with the number 30 shirt.

Zacatepec will next face Atlas FC, where Akrong's compatriot Clifford Aboagye plays.
