Werder Bremen have bolstered their defence with the acquisition of Derrick Arthur Kohn on a season-long loan from Turkish giants Galatasaray.
The 25-year-old left-back, who was born in Germany but is of Ghanaian descent, arrives at the Bundesliga club with an option for a permanent transfer at the end of the loan spell.
Kohn’s signing comes as a strategic move by Bremen to strengthen their squad as they look to improve their position in the Bundesliga.
The club expressed their excitement about bringing in the talented defender, highlighting his potential to make an impact on the team.
Kohn joined Galatasaray in February from Hannover and made 13 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig, contributing one goal and two assists.
His performances caught the eye of Bremen, who saw him as a valuable addition to their backline.
Despite not yet being capped by Germany, Kohn remains eligible to represent Ghana at the senior level, which could further enhance his international career.
Bremen's sporting director, Clemens Fritz, commented on the signing, saying, "Derrick brings a lot of quality to our squad.
"His versatility and experience in both the Bundesliga and Super Lig make him an important asset for us this season."
