Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Ntim is delighted to be making most his second chance at French Ligue 2 side Valenciennes.

Ntim joined the Red and White lads from Right to Dream Academy in 2014.

The 24-year-old made eighteen (18) appearances for the Valenciennes B side before being promoted to the first team, where he went on to chalk thirty-one (31) games.

He however spent the 2017/18 season on a loan at Chambly, playing just three (3) matches, before moving on to Trélissac which also proved to be a failure after making only eight (8) appearances.

The versatile guardsman was given a second chance at Valenciennes following the arrival of coach Olivier Guégan.

He recounted the difficult experience he went through before winning back his position at the club.

“When you come down from Ligue 2 to National 2, it's not easy. But it made me grow in the head. I also had several injuries. Before Trélissac, I had given Drancy a try which had not wanted me. When you are told that, you wonder if you are not zero ...(This year), the coach played a lot in my progress. He gave me a chance. It is not easy, I have to prove in every match, to be 100% focused for my progress and to help the team.”

Ntim has churned out 28 appearances in all competitions for the side in the 2019/20 season, scoring 1 goal.
