Ghanaian defender Jacob Akrong wants to continue good start to the Mexican league with club side Atlético Zacatepec after grabbing his first goal of the season on Sunday.

The Ghanaian scored Zacatepec's goal in their 1-1 draw against Celaya to keep his side without defeat in their last four games.

Akrong expressed delight in scoring over the weekend and looks confident ahead of the club's home game against Alebrijes of Oaxaca at the stadium Agustín "Coruco" Díaz.

"I feel very well and excited, having brought us a visitor point was important; we have three games without losing, we have to continue like this and hope to win at home," Akrong said after training on Tuesday.

"We are going to make our game and soccer, we are not going to worry about how Alebrijes comes, we have to make good football to get the three points, "added the player with the number 30 shirt.

Speaking about his goal on Sunday, the Ghanaian attributed it to a collective team effort.

"The goal is the product of teamwork, when you work with humility, the results are simply given. When you work, the results come, I keep working and I want to help the team to go far. I ask the supporters to support us, we have many things to offer them and we want to move up, "concluded the Ghanaian player who arrived at the Apertura 2017 at the Cañeros.
