Ghanaian defender Mitch Apau bags third league goal for Slovan Bratislava in Slovakian top-flight

Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Mitch Apau netted his third goal for Slovan Bratislava in their 5-2 walloping of MSK Zilina in the Slovakian top-flight league.

Bratislava, who went into the game on the back of eleven unbeaten streak, opened the scoring through Artem Sukhotsky in the 11th minute before Marin Ljubicic and Andraz Sporar scored on the 31st and 40th minute respectively to make it 3-0 for the hosts.

Pasienky Stadium outfit put the game beyond their opponents in the 42nd courtesy Mitch Apau's clean strike before David Strelec added his name on the scoresheet.

Despite a late charge from the visitors with goals from Robert Bozenik and Filip Kasa, Slovan Bratislava held on to pick the three points.

Apau enjoyed full throttle of the match while Benson Anang lasted 79 minutes for the losers.

The 28-year-old right-back joined Slovan on a three-year deal in the summer from Slovenian giants NK Olimpija Ljubljana.
