German-born Ghanaian defender Steffen Nkansah was the hero for Eintracht Braunschweig after scoring the only goal in their slim victory over Hellerscher FC in the Bundesliga 3 on Wednesday.
Eintracht Braunschweig were hoping to continue the impressive form they showed in their last game against Viktoria Koln in which they won 4-2.
But coach Marco Antwerpen's side were outplayed in the opening minutes of the game until Steffen Nkansah put the visitors ahead in the 34th minute with a powerful header.
Hallerscher FC threatened to pull parity on few occasions in the second stanza but Eintracht Braunschweig held on to record their second win since the resumption of the league.
The win moved Eintracht Braunschweig to 4th on the table with 47 points from 29 matches.
