German-born Ghanaian defender Stephan Ambrosius will miss Hamburg SV’s trip to Witzburger Kickers in the Bundesliga II on Saturday due to suspension.

The 22-year-old picked his fifth yellow card of the campaign in their goalless stalemate against Greuther Furth over the weekend.

He was booked in the 41st minute ruling him out of Saturday’s game.

The absence of the defender will be huge blow for the Bundesliga promotion chasers, but Rick van Drongelen will be expected to fill in for Ambrosius.

Van Drongelen is making a return from a lengthy lay off.

Ambrosius has been in good form for the Bundesliga II side this season, making 18 appearances as they lead the table.
