Ghanaian defender Yakuba Mohammed is attracting interest from Tanzania Premier League champions Simba FC.

The former Aduana Stars defender has a year left on his current deal with rivals Azam FC, and Simba are beefing up their squad ahead of next season's CAF Champions League with the defender a target.

They have identified the 24-year old as one of their defensive enforcement.

Meanwhile Azam FC want to keep the defender as they challenge for the title next season, after finishing third in the last campaign.

Yakuba joined Azam in 2016 and has consistently played a key role at the club.

Simba FC are yet to make an official bid, but it is understood the Champions League campaigners will be tabling an offer had to reject.

Mohammed previously played for Aduana Stars and Tema Youth.
