English-born Ghanaian forward Charles Sagoe Jr was on target for Arsenal's U21 team in their thrilling contest against Wet Bromwich Albion on Monday evening.

The youngster started a first half fight back for the Gunners but Arsenal conceded twice in the second half to lose 4-3 in the final game of the regular season in the Premier League 2.

The Baggies had raced to an early two-goal lead through Cole Deeming and  Eseosa Sule but Sagoe Jr pulled one back on the half-hour mark.

Just before half time, Will Sweet levelled for Arsenal as the two sides headed into the break with the scores at 2-2.

However, after the break Deeming and Sule restored West Brom two-goal lead in a space of 60 seconds.

Khayon Edwards reduced the deficit at the stroke of full time for Arsenal, who advanced to the play-offs, where they will face Newcastle United visiting Meadow Park.

Meanwhile, Sagoe Jr returned to Arsenal in January after a short loan spell at Shrewsbury Town.
