Ghanaian forward Christopher Antwi-Adjei ready for competition at VfL Bochum

Ghanaian winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei says he is ready to fight for a place in the starting team of newly-promoted Bundesliga outfit VfL Bochum.

The 27-year-old winger joined Bochum in May after leaving SC Paderborn at the end of the 2020/21 season.

"We had been in contact for a relatively long time and my advisors had good discussions with VfL. For me, the change is outstanding because it brings me close to my home. I'm in a great location and VfL Bochum is a great club. I am happy that I can now open a new chapter," he told RevierSport.

"Everything just went together. In this business, not many have the opportunity to gamble anywhere near their home. In addition, Bochum has been promoted to the Bundesliga. This is of course another bonus. I am incredibly happy that I signed there," he added.

Competition for the wing position at Bochum is expected to be keen with the likes of Danny Blum, Gerrit Holtmann, Milos Pantovic and Herbert Bockhorn all fighting for a starting role.

"In any case. I look forward to it. You could see in the past season that everyone is a good player and has their individual strengths. It will be interesting to see who will ultimately prevail. I think we're very well positioned on the outside lanes," said Antwi-Adjei.
