Ghanaian forward Elvis Manu is disappointed after his side, Akhisarspor suffered an opening day defeat to BeÅŸiktaÅŸ in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Dutch born Ghanaian striker came on in the second half as Akhisarspor lost 2-1 to the Turkish giants.

Elvis Manu replaced Aykut Ceviker in the 46th minute as a changed Akhisarspor side improved in the second half.

According Manu, they were totally out of the game in the first half and believes they could have pulled parity in the second half.

"We did not play football in the first half of the match, we did not do anything, we were withdrawn as a team, if you withdraw the match is hard for you. We played better in the second half. We started playing football 2 goals, we could have 2-2, we created opportunities, we had opportunities, we played football in the second half, we do not have any trouble," Elvis Manu said in a post match interview.

The 25 year old joined Akhisarspor from relegated side GençlerbirliÄŸi, signing a two year deal with the club.

Former Real Madrid defender Pepe opened the scoring for BeÅŸiktaÅŸ in the 39th minute before ex-Liverpol winger Ryan Babel double the lead three minutes later.

Yevhen Seleznyov pulled one back for the visitors.

Elvis Manu and his Akhisarspor teammates will host Rizespor in the next game at home.
