After much criticism and a season of ups and downs, Giovanni Kyeremateng gave Giugliano a crucial comeback victory against Lanusei in Italian Serie D.

Thanks to the Ghanaian forward's winner, Giugliano remained top of their group in the battle for promotion to the third tier.

“It wasn't an easy year for me, first the injury at the start of the season, then I wasn't in top condition. I did not live up to the expectations of the club and my teammates,” he told reporters.

“The goal against Lanusei was a liberation, I'm really happy. I thank my family who have always been close to me, a special thought for Ciro Poziello, as he himself pointed out, our relationship goes beyond the pitch, he was close to me and helped me a lot. Now it's time to win this championship.”

He joined Giugliano before the start of the season.

Kyeremateng, born in Arona, Italy, started his career with the Inter Milan U19 team from 2016 to 2017.

He has previously played Monza, Ascoli, Treviso, Rende, Nardo, Matelica, Imolese, Foggia, Bellaria IM and most recently Savoia.
