Ghanaian forward Paul Ayongo has aimed at netting 15 to 20 goals in the new season for Academico Viseu in the Liga Portugal 2 after an electric start in the season.

Ayongo has already bagged 4 goals in 4 appearances in the Portuguese second-tier and the Allianz Cup coming against CD Mafra and Casa Pia.

The 24-year-old centre-forward scored 11 goals in 33 matches in all competitions last season and has set his eyes on an improvement this term.

"This season I will try to score between 15 and 20 goals. I was happy for the first victory, but the most important thing is for the team to win," Ayongo said.

"I like to take advantage of the spaces on the back of the defense, through my speed, which is what they call depth here. And of course whenever I have a chance, I try to finish,"

Ayongo arrived in Portugal in July 2018 joining Amarante FC before heading to Paços Ferreira.

He joined Mafra on loan in the 2019/2020 season where he scored 4 goals in 25 matches in all competitions

The talented footballer moved from Paços to Academico in December 2020 in a deal worth around €250,000.
