Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak can compete in 2020/21 Ghana Premier League after COVID-19 tests results conducted by Health authorities came out negative.

The Phobians were stopped from honouring their opening fixture against Aduana Stars on Saturday, November 14, 2020, due to reported cases of coronavirus.

The team had allegedly contracted over 30 cases of coronavirus forcing organizers to postponed the game for the safety of the players and officials involved.

Hearts of Oak have been grounded in Dormaa since Saturday after the game was called off by the Ghana FA for further COVID-19 tests to be carried out.

The Phobians had already announced that three of their players including striker Abednego Tetteh had contracted the COVID-19 before the team departed to Dormaa for the game.

According to reports, the contingent that travelled to Dormaa for the game undertook a COVID-19 test on Tuesday and are expecting the results to be out by close of work on Wednesday.

The Presidential Director of Health Dr Anthony Nsiah Asare has disclosed in an interview that the Ghana Premier League side is free of the coronavirus.

"Hearts of Oak players and the technical staff have tested negative and are free to compete in any competition. I will advise them and all the clubs to adhere to all the protocols and keep on wearing their nose masks",  Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare said in an interview with the Pure FM.

Hearts of Oak will begin their league campaign against AshantiGold SC on Tuesday 24 November 2020 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
