Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori delivered a commanding performance for AmaZulu, keeping a clean sheet in their 2-0 victory over Marumo Gallants at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Ofori’s strong display came just a week after he faced criticism for two costly errors in a draw against Kaizer Chiefs.
However, AmaZulu co-coach Arthur Zwane reaffirmed his faith in the former Black Stars captain, praising his resilience and importance to the team.
"Richard has been one of our best players since we took over. He has kept us in games on many occasions, and we cannot crucify him for a few mistakes," Zwane said.
Ofori’s clean sheet against Marumo Gallants was his fourth since joining AmaZulu late last year. His arrival has coincided with a positive run for the club under Zwane and co-coach Vusumuzi “Kanu” Vilakazi, with AmaZulu securing seven wins, two draws, and six losses across all competitions.
With his latest performance, Ofori has reaffirmed his place as a crucial figure in AmaZulu’s setup, showing resilience and experience in goal.
