Ghanaian Jamie Leweling tests positive for coronavirus; ruled out of Greuther Furth clash with Leverkusen

Germany youth international of Ghanaian descent Jamie Leweling will miss Greuther Furth's Bundesliga match against Bayer Leverkusen due to coronavirus.

Leweling has tested positive and has been isolated, making him unavailable for Saturday's match.

His absence is a blow for Furth, who are looking for a win after a stalemate at Hoffenheim last weekend.

In that game, Leweling was given a special role, and he delivered.

Fürth could be relegated on Saturday, and if they are to stand any chance of warding off relegation for another week then they must beat Champions League chasing Bayer Leverkusen.

Fürth enter Saturday's contest knowing that a win is required to keep their hopes of survival alive, although even then, three points may not be enough to avoid the drop.

Leweling, who snubbed a Ghana call-up in November 2020, has five goals and one assist in more than 30 league games this season.
