Iceland league champions Valur have emerged as the frontrunners to sign former Ghana international Anthony Annan.

The veteran midfielder is without a club after failing to renew his contract HJK despite helping the club claim the Finnish title.

Various teams in the Scandinavian region have shown great interest in signing the petit midfielder with Valur leading the race. The 2018 Icelandic league winners will be playing in the UEFA Champions League and they want to beef up their midfield with Annan.

Other teams such as Ilves and Rops in Finland, as well as newly-promoted Swedish Allsvenskan side Falkenbergs FF are also after his signature.
