Ghanaian midfielder Abraham Kudemor scored his first goal of the season to propel Sporting Charleroi to a 3-0 victory over KV Mechelen in the Belgian Pro League Europa League Play-offs on Saturday.

The 29-year-old former Heart of Lions midfielder cemented the victory for Sporting by scoring the third goal in the 94th minute at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi.

Sporting who have established their leadership on top of the Group B table needed victory over Mechelen and they took it in style by stunning a ten-man Mechelen side who fielded French-born Ghana defender Jerry Vandam in their defence.

Kudemor has not enjoyed favourable playing time this season for Sporting but on Saturday when he was handed the chance to play in the last minutes of added-time, he took every single opportunity to score his first goal of the season.

Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Yakinu-Iddi missed the game with injury.
