Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo has been named in the Swedish Allsvenskan Team of the Week after an outstanding display for Elfsborg against GIF Sundsvall on Sunday.

The 23-year-old netted a brace as Elfsborg travelled to beat GIF at the NP3 Arena.

Baidoo has been in a rich run of form in Sweden this season and it was his second brace of the campaign for Elfsborg.

He scored the opening goal of the match as early as the 6th minute with a fine finish after connecting a pass from forward Per Frick.

The Ghanaian came close to getting the second goal for Elfsborg in ten minutes later but his brilliant effort struck the woodwork.

Baidoo doubled the advantage for the visitors and rounded off the victory for Elfsborg four minutes from the break after converting a penalty kick.

The former Midtjylland player has been outstanding form this campaign having bagged 6 goals and provided one assist in 14 matches in the Swedish top-tier.

Last week, he scored twice as Elfsborg shocked Malmo at home.
