Real Tamale United players' salary arrears have been settled by Ghanaian millionaire Ibrahim Mahama, providing a much-needed boost to the club ahead of their Premier League match against Medeama on Sunday.
RTU, who returned to Ghanaian top-flight this season after over a decade in the second tie, owed their players three months' salary until a selfless philanthropist intervened.
The RTU players expressed appreciation to the business tycoon for his thoughtful gesture, and they have promised to keep the Pride of the North in a respectable position on the Ghana Premier League table at the end of the season.
Northern Regional Minister Shani Alhassan Saibu also thanked Ibrahim Mahama for his prompt intervention.
This is not the first time Mahama has come to RTU's aid. He fully funded their kits for the current 2021/22 football season.
RTU are one place above the relegation zone with 11 matches to end the season.
