Former Tema Youth striker Joseph Paintsil continues to shine in Hungary as Ghanaian quartet at Columbus Crew were instrumental in the side's play off berth. 

Reuben Obodai has a lowdown on how Ghanaian players fared across the globe over the weekend.

ENGLAND

Jeffery Schlupp played full throttle for Crystal Palace as they were mulled 4-0 at Manchester United.

Christian Atsu lasted full period for Newcastle United as they were held by Liverpool to a 1-1 stalemate at the St James' Park.

Andre Ayew was introduced in the 78th minute as West Ham United pipped Jordan Ayew's Swansea City 1-0 at the Olympic Stadium. Jordan played full minutes of action.

Daniel Amartey has failed to taste league action for the fifth consecutive weeks as he warmed the bench for Leicester City in their 0-0 draw at Bournemouth.

Collins Quaner missed Huddersfield Town 4-0 drubbing against Tottenham with injury.

In the Championship, Albert Adomah played the entire period of Aston Villa 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers.

Andy Yiadom missed Barnsley impressive 3-1 win at Millwall through injury

Striker Caleb Ekuban is still out injured as Leeds United were hammered 3-0 at Sheffield Wednesday.

Phil Ofosu-Ayeh is still out injured but his side Wolverhampton Wanderers recorded a 4-0 victory over Burton Albion.

Belgium-born Ghanaian defender Dennis Odoi was late substitute for Fulham who beat QPR 2-1 at home.

In the League One, striker Kwesi Appiah 

missed AFC Wimbledon 0-0 draw with Rochadale after suffering a horror injury last in the game against MK Dons.

Thomas Asante Brandon was not included in Milton Keynes Dons squad that beat Bury 2-0 at home.

Tarique Fosu Henry plundered his first hat-trick for Charlton Athletic in their 3-1 win against Fleetwood Town. Joe Dodoo meanwhile, warmed the bench for the victors.

Hiram Boateng was introduced in the 43rd minute for Exeter City on their 4-1 win over Morecambe.

Midfielder Koby Arthur was an unused substitute for Macclesfied in their 1-0 win at Torquay.

Nana Ofori-Twumasi played 90 minutes for Maidstone in their 1-0 win at Barrow.

Nortei Nortey was an unused substitute for Dover Athletic in their 1-0 win over Solihull.

Akwesi Asante was left out of Grimsby Town squad in their 0-0 stalemate with Lincoln City.

 

SPAIN

 

Thomas Partey was excellent for Atletico Madrid in their 0-0 draw at Leganes.

Mubarak Wakaso warmed the bench for Deportivo Alaves in thier first game under new coach Gianni Di Biasi when they beat Levante 2-0. Striker Emmanuel Boateng made a cameo appearance for the losers.

ITALY

 

Right back Claud Adjapong and Alfred Duncan both lasted full period for Sassuolo in their 6-1 thumping at Lazio.

 

Afriyie Acquah was not added to the Torino match day squad that drew 2-2 with Hellas Verona.

Kwadwo Asamoah was superb for Juventus in their 2-2 stalemate at Atalanta.

Rahman Chibsah made a cameo appearance for Benevento Calcio in their 2-1 defeat at home to Inter Milan. Bright Gyamfi was an unused substitute for the beleaguered Marco Baroni's side.

Isaac Cofie and Godfred Donsah both played full throttle for Genoa and Bologna respectively but the latter's team won by 1-0.

In the Serie B, midfielder Bright Addae replaced the injured Tommaso Bianchi in the 23rd for Ascoli in their 0-0 home draw with Palermo.

Isaac Donkor failed to win a place in Cesena match day squad in their 5-2 thumping at Pro Vercelli.

Moses Odjer lasted 74 minutes for Salernitana in their 2-2 draw at Parma. Patrick Asmah was an unused substitute for the visitors .

Midfielder Emmanuel Besea was again an unused substitute for Frosinone in their 1-0 loss at Perugia.

FRANCE

Enock Kwarteng was not added to the high flying Nantes side that beat Metz 1-0 to move up to 4th on the Ligue 1 league log.

Grejohn Kyei was introduced in the 62nd minute for Reims in their 1-0 home win over Clemont.

Goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi warmed the bench for Sochaux Montbiliard in their 2-0 loss to Auxerre.

GERMANY

Daniel Opare continued from where he left off last week with another scintillating outing for Augsburg despite losing 2-1 to table toppers Dortmund.

Kevin Prince Boateng was a threat for VfL Stuttgart all afternoon in Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1. Ebenezer Ofori made a cameo appearance for Stuttgart.

In the Bundesliga 2, defender Joseph Baffo lasted 78 minutes for Eintracht Braunschweig while Steffen Nkansah was introduced in the 23rd minute in their 2-0 home loss to St Pauli.

 

Defender Marcel Appiah had a game to forget for VfL Osnabruck as he picked a red card in their 4-1 loss at Preussen Munster.

AUSTRIA

 

Kadiri Mohammed picked a booking for Austria Vienna in their 2-0 win over Altach. Bernard Tekpetey returned from suspension to make a cameo appearance for Altach.

David Atanga was a late substitute for Red Bull Salzburg as they pipped AC Wolfsberger 2-1 at the Red Bull Arena.

Centre-back Kennedy Boateng was a pillar at the back for Ried as they battered Liefering FC 6-1.

Majeed Ashimeru played full throttle for Austria Lustenau in their 4-0 home defeat to Wacker Innsbruck.

AZERBAIJAN

Striker Richard Gadze played full throttle for Zira in their 0-0 stalemate with leaders Qarabag.

BELGIUM

William Owusu Acheampong lasted 73 minutes for Royal Antwerp as they were drubbed 3-0 at Waasland-Beveren. Owusu Ampomah lasted 67 minutes for the victors.

 

Bernard Kumordzi was deployed as a makeshift centre back for Kortrijk in their 2-1 home loss to Oostende.

Eric Ocansey returned from injury to clock 90 minutes for KAS Eupen in their 3-3 draw with Genk. Joseph Aidoo also saw 90 minutes for Genk.

 

Dennis Appiah enjoyed full period for Anderlecht as they beat rivals Standard Liege 1-0. Emmanuel Nii Adjei was not included in the match day squad.

Nana Kwesi Asare saw 90 minutes of action for KAA Gent in their 2-1 loss at league leaders Club Brugge.

Goalkeeper Abdul Manaf-Nurudeen was not added to Zulte Waregem squad that lost 3-1 to Lokeren.

Osah Bernardinho Tetteh continued his fine form for Westerlo by playing full throttle in their 2-1 win at Tubize.

BELARUS

Striker Joel Fameyeh made a cameo appearance for Dinamo Brest in their 2-2 draw with Vitebsk. Saliw Babawo warmed the bench again for Brest.

 

Dickson Afoakwa scored his second of the season for Gomel FC in their 3-0 win at Naftan. Dickson Edomanko as an unused substitute for Gomel.

BULGARIA

Ishmael Badu lasted for 60 minutes for Septemvri in their 1-0 defeat at Lokomotiv Plovdiv.

Francis Narh was not added to Levski Sofia squad that won 1-0 against Cherno Mor.

CONGO

Solomon Asante and Daniel Nii Adjei helped Tout Puissant Mazembe defeat FUS Rabat 1-0 in the first leg of the semifinal of the CAF Champions League. Yaw Frimpong was an unused substitute.

 

CROATIA

Obeng Regan who secured his work permit last week, made his debut for Inter Zapresic as a second half substitute in their 2-0 loss to Hadjuk Split. Ahmed Said enjoyed 74 minute for Split before making way for veteran Portugal striker Hugo Almeida.

Maxwell Boadu Acosty lasted 67 minutes for Rijeka as they walloped Rudes 5-1.

CZECH REPUBLIC

Benjamin Tetteh's poor form continues as he failed to hit his stride again for Bohemians 1905 in their 2-1 loss at Victoria Plzen.

DENMARK

Ernest Asante scored again for FC Nordsjjaelland as they run out 4-2 victors at Silkeborg. Ibrahim Moro missed the game through suspension while Godsway Donyoh missed with injury for the Wild Tigers but Collins Tanor was not included in their match day squad.

Kelvin Mensah was declared unfit for Brondby 4-0 win over Sonderjyske.

Joseph Mensah lasted 71 minutes for AC Horsen in their 1-0 win over Randers.

FINLAND

Evans Mensah returned from a long lay off to play 62 minutes for HJK Helsinki while Anthony Annan also lasted 53 minutes in their 4-0 home win over PS Kemi.

Baba Mensah and Reuben Ayarna both lasted entire period for Ilves in their 2-1 win against Lahti.

Striker Seth Paintsil scored a brace for  Jaro FF in their 4-2 victory against Haka.

GEORGIA

Winger Kalif Alhassan missed Dila Gori 1-0 win over Chickura through injury.

HUNGARY

Joseph Paintsil scored a belter for Ferencvarosi in their 3-2 victory at Balmazujvaros Sport.

INDONESIA

Michael Essien picked a booking for Persib Bandung in their 2-2 draw at Balikpapan.

KOSOVO

Abdul Bashiru played full throttle for Prishtina in their 3-0 loss at Llapi Podujeve.

Gilbert Koomson was magnificent for Sogndal in their 2-2 draw with Molde

Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey failed to keep a clean sheet for a second successive week as Valeranga suffered a 4-2 defeat to Stabaek. Raymond Gyasi was an unused substitute for the victors while Ernest Agyiri missed the encounter with an injury.

Edwin Gyasi returned to Aalesund starting line up to play full throttle in their 2-0 loss at Sandefjord.

DennyAntwi was left out of IK Start squad that beat Strommen 2-1.

POLAND

 

Aziz Tetteh warmed the bench for Lech Poznan in their 3-0 over sworn rivals Legia Warsaw.

 

PORTUGAL

Lumor Agbenyanor saw 90 minutes of action for Portimonense in their 2-2 stalemate with Aves. Emmanuel Hackman spent the entire duration of the game on the substitute bench for Portimao based club.

Midfielder Prince Buaben came on for Aaron Hughes in the 7th minute in Hearts of Midlothian 2-1 loss to Dundee FC.

SWEDEN

Samuel Mensah made a cameo appearance for Ostersunds in their 0-0 draw with Hacken. Mohammed Nasiru played full throttle while Mohammed Abubakar was introduced late in the game. Meanwhile, Patrick Kpozo and Frank Arhin were not included in Ostersunds match day squad.

Midfielder Richard Donkor was introduced in the 33rd minute for Falkenbergs in their 4-1 home win over Norrby. Eric Kwakwa was an unused substitute for the victors likewise Prosper Kasim for the losers.

KingsleySarfo was not added to Malmo squad that beat Halmstad 2-0.

Nana Akosah-Bempah was not included in Cape Town City FC side that beat 2-0 win over Ajax Cape Town.

Bernard Morrison made a cameo appearance for Orlando Pirates in their 2-2 saw with Polokwane City.

 

Razak Brimah kept a clean sheet for Mamelodi Sundowns in their 1-0 win at Platinum Stars.

Raphael Dwamena enjoyed full throttle for FC Zurich as they drubbed Lugano 3-0.

Nuhu Kasim scored for Young Boys in their 6-1 mauling over St. Gallen.

In the Swiss Challenge League, defender Kwadwo Duah was introduced in the 61st minute for Winterthur in their 3-2 loss to Wohlen.

Francis Kyeremeh picked a booking for Radnik in their 3-1 defeat to Borac.

Owusu Bempah is nursing an injury hence missed Vojvodina 2-0 victory over Mladost.

After his heroics in the Europa League in midweek, Richmond Boakye Yiadom made a cameo appearance for Red Star Belgrade in their 1-0 loss at Napredak. Abraham Frimpong was not added to the match day squad.

SLOVENIA
