Former Ghana International Derrick Boateng has implored that the style of play in the Spanish La Liga suits a lot of Ghanaian players.

The league currently has about four Ghanaian players representing teams such as Thomas Partey (Atletico Madrid), Baba Iddrisu (Mallorca), Lumor Aybenyenu (Mallorca) and Mohammed Salisu (Real Valladolid).

Boateng who had stints with La Liga sides Eibar and Getafe said the pace, dribbling, and ball juggling will helps Ghanaian players to adapt quickly to the league.

“The La Liga is the best league for African players because the teams there play very expressive football and that’s exactly what Ghanaian players are good at, that makes it the best place for our players in Ghana, the exact reason why the likes of Thomas Partey and others currently playing in Spain are excelling in Spain” Boateng told Starr FM’s Benjamin Yamoah in an Instagram chat.

The La Liga has also seen some Ghanaian players such as Michael Essien (Real Madrid), Kevin-Prince Boateng (Barcelona), Mubarak Wakaso (Deportivo Alaves), Richmond Boakye Yiadom(Elche) featured in the past.
