Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan resumed scoring over the weekend as he netted a double for Al Ain in the UAE. 

There was also a goal for Andre Ayew in France as well as AC Milan star Kingsley Boateng and Johnathan Opoku who scored his 11th goal in the Netherlands.

Meanwhile French-born former AS Monaco defender Dennis Appiah continues to dominate the headlines in the Ligue 1 as he set up a goal for Caen against OM.'s Akyereko Frimpong Manson has more on the performance of Ghanaian players with Divine Naah also shinning in Holland.


Dutch-born Ghanaian full-back Mitch Apau was in full-time action for Westerlo when they won 3-0 against KV Oostende on Saturday.

Sporting Charleroi managed a slim 1-0 win over Lokeren. Belgian-born defender Denis Odoi started the game and played full throttle for Lokeren but former Liberty Professionals youth team player Eugene Ansah came off their bench to play the last 23 minutes plus stoppage-time for Lokeren.

Lierse SK were handed a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of KRC Genk. Ghanaian midfielder Bennard Kumordzi did not travel with the Genk squad because of injury.

Anderlect moved within a point of leaders Club Brugge after hammering Kortrijk 2-0. Ghana winger Frank Acheampong came off the bench in the 76th minute to play for Anderlect.

Full-backs Nana Asare and David Addy both faced each other as Waasland-Beveren locked horns with KAA Gent. French-born defender Jerry Vandam started the game from the Waasland-Beveren bench.

In the Second Division, Sint-Truiden posted a 1-0 win over AS Eupen who had Ghanaian midfielder Stephen Asamoah in full time action for them.

Forward William Owusu Acheampong scored a double for FC Antwerp when they defeated White Star Bruxelles 4-2. Owusu scored in the 37th and 93rd minutes for Antwerp.


Ghana youth sensation Godfred Donsah suffered an injury was replaced in the 13th minute by Cagliari who lost 2-1 against Hellas Verona on Sunday afternoon.

AC Milan and Chievo Verona shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw. Neither Michael Essien nor Sulley Muntari played for Milan as they both warmed the bench. On the Chievo bench was midfielder Isaac Cofie.

Raman Chibsah was unused by Sassuolo who lost 3-0 against Lazio at their own backyard on Sunday.

Sampdoria restored their hopes of top four finish after beating Atalanta 2-1 at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia. Alfred Duncan and Afriyie Acquah both started the game for Sampdoria while forward Richmond Boakye-Yiadom came off the bench in the 73rd minute to play for Atalanta.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu played 84 minutes for Udinese who lost 1-0 against Cesena.

Young defender Isaac Donkor did not make the Inter Milan bench in their 1-0 home loss against Fiorentina at the Giuseppe Meazza.

In the Serie B, AC Milan loanee Kingsley Boateng scored the solitary goal of the game for Bari 1908 who won 1-0 against Modena. Midfielder Amidu Salifu was booked in the 2nd minute and played the entire game but winger Maxwell Acosty came off the bench in the 58th minute to play for Modena.

Moses Odjer sat on the Catania bench when they lost 2-1 against Frosinone.

Defender Masahudu Alhassan made a quick return from injury to play full throttle for Latina who narrowly beat Trapani 1-0.

Ransford Selasi was in full time action for Pescara who won 5-2 against Virtus Lanciano.


Elvis Manu came off the bench to play the entire second half for Feyenoord Rotterdam who shared the spoils with FC Utrecht after draw wing 0-0. Youngster Rodney Antwi could not make the FC Utrecht squad for the game.

Belgian-born defender Marvin Peersmann was not in the Dordrecht side that defeated Go Ahead Eagles 2-1 on Saturday.

Manchester City loanee Divine Naah came off the NAC Breda bench to make his official Eredivisie debut as they held FC Twente to a 1-1 draw on Saturday. Ex-Ghana U20 triallist Shadragh Eghan sat on the Twente bench for the entire game but Jeffrey Sarpong was not in the NAC squad for the game.

Young defender Kenny Tete could not make the Ajax Amsterdam squad when they defeated PSV Eindhoven 3-1 on Sunday.

There was no Johan Kappelhof in the FC Groningen side that drew 1-1 with ADO Den Haag.

In the second-tier league, striker Johnathan Opoku scored his 11th goal of the season for Oss as he helped them win 1-0 against Fortuna Sittard.

NEC Nijmegen tightened their grip at the top of the table after beating Roda JC 3-0 on Friday. German-born Ghanaian Marcel Appiah came off the bench to play in the second half for NEC while brothers Raymond and Edwin Gyasi also played for Roda JC.

Mustapha Yahaya was not in the FC Twente II team when they won 2-1 at Sparta Rotterdam.

MVV defeated Ajax II 3-1 on Friday. Ghanaian trio of Kenny Tete, Leroy Owusu and Elton Acolatse all played full throttle for Ajax II while Belgian-born Marvin Ofori-Appiah came off the bench MVV bench in the 64th minute to help them win.


Andre Ayew scored the opening goal for Marseille but French-born Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah assisted the match-winner for Caen as they fought from behind to defeat the Olympians 3-2 on Friday.

Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew played 79 minutes for Lorient who halted Bastia after beating them 2-0 on Sunday.

Defender Jonathan Mensah was unused by Evian TG who won 2-1 against Metz. Former Ghana U17 forward Kwame Nsor came off the bench in the dying embers to play for Metz.


Black Stars center-back John Boye was in full time action for Kayseri Erciyesspor who lost 3-1 against Galatasaray.

Daniel Opare scored on the 53rd minute for Besiktas who were held to a 2-2 draw by struggling Balikesirspor side.

Striker Abdul Majeed Waris missed Trabzonspor's 3-2 win over Karabükspor with injury and so did defender Jerry Akaminko who missed Eski?ehirspor's 3-0 win over Rizespor.

In the second-tier league, former Ghana U20 defender Joseph Attamah played the entire match for Adana Demirspor who held leaders Kayserispor to a 3-3 draw.


Defender Baba Abdul Rahman was a full timer for Augsburg who slipped to a 1-0 loss at Hertha Berlin.

In other games, Kevin-Prince Boateng played 64 minutes for Schalke 04 who were mauled by Borussia Dortmund. American-born could-be Ghanaian Joe Gyau was not in the Dortmund squad for the game.

Gideon Jung could not make the Hamburg SV first team squad for their 2-1 away loss against Eintracht Frankfurt.

In the Bundesliga II, midfielder Reinhold Yabo played 77 minutes for Karlsruher SC who held Nurnberg to a 1-1 draw.

Philemon Ofosu-Aryeh was booked in the 43rd minute and played the entire game for Aalen when they lost 2-0 against Sandhausen.


Ghana AFCON 2015 striker Kwesi Appiah was not in the Crystal Palace side that shocked West Ham United 3-1 at the Upton Park on Saturday.

Christian Atsu missed Everton's 2-0 reverse against Arsenal with injury.

In the SkyBet Championship, Koby Arthur could not make the Birmingham City squad for their 1-0 home win over Brentford.

Albert Adomah was in full time action for Middlesbrough who lost 2-0 at Sheffield Wednesday.

In the Spanish La Liga, Spanish-born Ghanaian Inaki Williams played 75 minutes for Athletic Bilbao when they defeated Eibar 1-0. There was no Derek Boateng in the Eibar side for the game.

Atletico Madrid loanee Thomas Partey played the last 10 minutes for Almeria who drew 0-0 with Deportivo La Coruna.

In the Segunda Division, Ghana goalkeeper Razak Braimah was in between the sticks for Mirandes CD who drew 0-0 with ten-man Real Betis.

Real Mallorca found their form and hammered Barcelona II 4-2. Ghanaian midfielder Kassim Nuhu came off the bench to play the last minutes of the game for Mallorca.


Ghanaian youth midfielder Bernard Mensah came off the bench to play the last 31 minutes for Vitória Guimarães who won 1-0 against Maritimo.

Alhassan Wakaso and Emmanuel Boateng both played for Rio Ave who lost 2-0 against Sporting Braga. Emmanuel Oti could not make the Braga squad for the game.

Former Ghana U17 midfielder Caleb Gomina could not make the Moreirense squad for their 2-1 away triumph over Penafiel.

Former Arsenal winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie could not make the Boavista squad for their 1-1 draw against Gil Vicente.


Ghana winger Wakaso Mubarak sat on the Celtic bench during their 4-0 win over Aberdeen.

Abdul Osman was a full timer for Partick Thistle who beat Dundee United 2-0 at their own backyard.

In the Championship, Prince Buaben did not play for Heart of Midlothian who beat Cowdenbeath 10-0.


Ghana youth attacker Francis Narh played the second half for Banik Ostrava who drew 1-1 Sparta Praha.

Dukla Praha downed Slovan Liberec 3-1. Former Liberty Professionals midfielder Isaac Sackey was in full time action for Liberec while Dutch-born Kevin Luckassen played the last 11 minutes for them.


FC Copenhagen slipped to a 1-0 loss against OB Odense. Versatile Ghana midfielder Daniel Amartey played the entire minutes of the game for Copenhagen as well as Danny Amankwaah.

In other games, former Ghana international defender Francis Dickoh sat on the bench for FC Midtjylland who shared the spoils with Brondby in a 1-1 draw.


Ghanaian striker Patrick Amoah scored the consolation goal for Huddinge IF when they lost 3-1 against BK Hacken. In action for BK Hacken was Ghanaian duo Mohammed Abubakari and Nasiru Mohammed.

In other games also in Swedish Cup, striker Kwame Karikari scored one of the goal for Halmstad BK when they won 3-0 against Syrianska FC. Midfielder King Osei Gyan and defender Joseph Baffo both played for Halmstad.

Enock Adu Kofi was in action for Malmo FF when they thrashed Hudiksvall 5-0 in the same competition.

20-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Kingsley Sarfo was in full time action for Sirius who beat Brommapojkarna 3-1.

Former Ghana U20 defender Ebenezer Ofori played for AIK Solna in their 3-0 win over Kristianstad.


Former Hearts of Oak playmaker Winful Cobbinah was in full time action for Najran but could not help them as they lost 2-0 against Al Hilal.


Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan scored a brace for Al Ain who won 3-0 against Al Fujairah.
