GHANASoccerent.com's African Football Specialist Nuhu Adams reports on the performances of Ghanaian players in CAF's inter-clubs competitions. 

It was the second round of matches in the Champions League which saw eight Ghanaian players feature in the Group stage.

In the Confederation Cup, six players were involved in the playoff round second leg matches.

CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Centre back Richard Baffour played all the minutes for Ismaily SC when they lost 2-1 at to Tunisia's Club Africain on Friday at the Ismalia Stadium.

Baffour was booked in the 44th minutes as his tackle led to a penalty.

Horoya AC suffered a 3-0 humbling in the hands of South African giants Orlando Pirates in Soweto on Friday.

Godfred Asante, Hudu Yakubu, Sebe Baffour Kyei and Ocansey Mandela were given starts by the Guinean champions.

Brefo Mensah was introduced in the game in the 77th minute when he replaced Baffour Kyei.

Patrick Razak was an unused substitute.

Nicholas Gyan and James Kotei enjoyed all 90 minutes but couldn't save Simba SC from being humiliated by AS Vita Club with 5-0 thrashing in Kinshasa on Saturday.

CAF CONFEDERATION CUP

Nana Antwi Manu led FC San Pedro's attack as they drew 0-0 with Zambian giants Nkana FC in Abidjan on Saturday.

Richard Ocran was at the heart of the defence for the Zambians who progressed to the group stage with a 3-0 aggregate.

Ethiopian champions Jimma Aba Jifar had their campaign come to an end as they were beaten 4-0 in Morocco by Hassania Agadir.

Daniel Agyei was in the posts whilst Bismark Appiah started and enjoyed all minutes of the game.

Samuel Akwasi Amoto came on as a substitute to help Salitas FC chalk history as the first club from Burkina Faso to make it the group stage of a CAF club competition.

They beat Libyan side Al-Nasr SC 3-1 in Ouagadougou on Saturday over turning a 1-0 defeat in the first leg.

Enugu Rangers advanced to the group stages after completing a double over Bantu FC from Lesotho with a 2-1 win on Sunday.

Goalkeeper Nana Bonsu kept the posts for the Nigerians as they sailed through on 4-2 aggregate.

Rahim Osumanu started for ZESCO United as they achieved a double over Kaizer Chiefs by beating them 2-1 in South Africa.

The Zambian champions made it to the group stage via a 5-2 aggregate.
