Ghanaian Prince Owusu scores in Toronto FC's Canadian Championship loss

Ghanaian striker Prince Osei Owusu netted a goal for Toronto FC, but it wasn't enough to prevent a 2-1 defeat to Forge FC in the Canadian Championship semi-final on Wednesday.

Owusu, brought on as a substitute at the start of the second half, scored a late consolation goal in the 88th minute.

However, Forge FC had already built a two-goal lead thanks to strikes from Béni Badibanga and Kwasi Poku within the opening 14 minutes.

Despite controlling possession and creating more chances, Toronto FC lacked the finishing touch. Owusu's goal, assisted by Derrick Etienne Jr. from a corner, proved to be a mere glimmer of hope as they extended their winless run to ten games.

Toronto FC will now turn their attention to their upcoming Major League Soccer (MLS) clash against Philadelphia Union on July 13th.
