Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew says they will win their next matches against Norwich and Sunderland if they continue to play in the way they have over their past two games.

The Ghana international was left heartened by the solid performance against West Ham as they drew 1-1 on Boxing Day.

Aston Villa are bottom of the English Premier League and need to win their upcoming two matches to keep alive their hopes of staying in the top-flight.

Ayew knows the importance of the next two games - against Norwich and Sunderland - and called on the players to continue in the same vein.

"We have two important games coming up and we need to get points," Ayew said.

"We have to keep believing and keep on working hard. Things will change, I know that.

"We have to pick up points now. We have to continue on with what we have been doing since the second half against Newcastle.

"We have to keep on that way."
