AZ Alkmaar forward Myron Boadu is delighted with the point gained against PEC Zwolle in the Dutch Eredivisie over the weekend.

The Red and Whites begun their 2020/21 Eredivisie campaign on a stuttering note after falling behind to Clint Leemans' goal against PEC Zwolle in the 38th minute.

Before Leeman's strike, AZ Alkmaar were playing with ten men after Calvin Stengs's expulsion in the 17th minute for a reckless challenge.

But the hosts rallied to secure a point from the match through Myron Boadu's 68th minute close range goal.

"Of course we played almost the entire match with ten men, but even then you cannot lose points at home against PEC Zwolle," said the AZ striker after the match.

“Yes, too many balls jumped off my foot, I have to be stronger on the ball. I also get to hear that from my parents.”

"But I am proud of the boys that we fought like that and still got one point out."

Boadu rose to prominence last season after hitting 20 goals and 13 assists in 39 matches across all competitions before the season was truncated due to the coronavirus crisis.
