Ghanaian teen midfielder Omari Forson has signed his first professional contract with English giants Manchester United.

"Happy to sign my first professional contract with Manchester United. A big thank you to all that have supported and guided me along the journey," he tweeted.

It is the intention of the 17-year-old to feature for the first team in future.

Last year, Arsenal made an attempt to lure the midfielder away from Old Trafford, but the Gunners were unsuccessful.

Then, he was promoted to the under-18s and despite a spell out injured, the attacking midfielder showed real quality for United’s academy. He scored five goals and provided five assists in 13 appearances last season.

His impressive performances have earned him another promotion as he will play for the under-23s this season.

Playing for the under-23s means there is a very good chance he will be called to train with the first team if he succeeds.

Forson joined Manchester United in 2019 from Tottenham Hotspur. However, his career started at West Ham United.

His parents are from Ghana but are UK based.
