Ghanaian teenager Lawrence Agyekum scores first league goal in Liefering home win over SV Horn

Ghanaian youngster Lawrence Agyekum scored his maiden goal for FC Liefering on Sunday in the Austrian 2. Liga when they beat SV Horn to close the season.

Agyekum scored the final goal in the final round of the Austrian second-tier league for the 2021-22 campaign as they won 4-1 at the Red Bull Arena.

Liefering took the lead in the match in the 16th minute through Croatian teenager Roko Simic.

Lukas Ibertsberger doubled the advantage for the home side in the 29th minute before Simic got his second goal of the game five minutes later.

Agyekum increased the advantage for Liefering with his very first goal for the club as he scored eight minutes after the break.

Ghanaian compatriot Amankwah Forson was brought on to replace Agyekum in the 56th minute.

Liefering finished the season at the 6th position on the league standings with 46 points from 30 matches.

Agyekum joined Red Bull Salzburg from Ghana Premier League side WAFA SC in February 2022 and was immediately sent on loan to Liefering.

The 18-year-old central midfielder made 13 appearances for the Liefering where he scored once and assisted twice.

He also played 4 matches in the UEFA Youth League, making two assists.
