Ghanaian international trio of Anthony Annan, Ernest Asante and Kamal Issah have missed out on playing in the Norwegian Cup final following their painful loss to Rosenborg BK on Wednesday night.

With Annan and Asante starting at the Lerkendal, Stabaek held the champions to a 2-2 drawn game in regulation time before a controversial referee decision saw penalty awarded to end the game in their favour.

"We fought to the end and led at some point but things turned bad and they won it," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

With the Norwegian Eliteserien title still within sight, Stabaek were hoping to challenge Rosenborg to the Cup trophy but Wednesday night's decision means they must focus their energy on winning the league title.

"We will turn our focus to challenging for the league title and do whatever we have to do," he added.

Former Liberty Professionals midfielder Kamal Issah came off the bench in the extra-time to play for Stabaek while Annan lasted until 91st minute.

He was booked in the 9th minute.
