Ghanaian sensation Samuel Alabi has been nominated for Ashdod FC Player of the Season award following his swashbuckling performance in the ongoing Israeli Premier League.

The Nungua-born attacker has established himself as an integral member of the Yellow lads since joining on a season-long loan from Ghanaian side Dreams FC.

The 19-year-old has been in superb form for the club, churning out 17 league games, contributing  one goal and providing one assist.

His impressive display has earned him a place in the team’s Player of the Season shortlist alongside Shlomi Azulay, Timothy Awany, David Dean and Nir Bardea.

Alabi will be gunning to clinch the gong which was bagged by compatriot Leonard Owusu last term.

The awards night will be held in June when the season ends.

Ashdod FC have triggered their obligation to purchase the youngster on a permanent following his jaw-dropping outing in the season.

The Israeli top-flight league is currently suspended due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
