German-born Ghanaian attacker, Morgan Fassbender, climbed off the bench to provide an important assist as SV Meppen clawed back from two goals down to draw on Saturday in the Bundesliga II.

The 22-year-old forward replaced Serhat Koruk after the break and made an instant impact, threading a pass to Willi Evseev to score with six minutes remaining.

SV Meppen started the game poorly after conceding twice in the first 15 minutes. Andriano Grimaldi and Minos Gouras scored twice in the space of seven minutes to hand the visitors the lead at the Hansch Arena.

But SVM pulled one back in the 29th minute from the spot through Luka Tankulic.

Their manager Rico Schmidt called on the Ghanaian winger to inject life into his side after the break.

Fassbender was explosive on the flanks, making him unplayable.

With six minutes remaining, he unleased a vital pass, which proved crucial as Evseev connected to secure a point for the hosts.

Morgan Fassbender joined Meppen in the summer transfer window from fourth tier side Chemie Liepzig.
