Ghanaian young striker Abdul-Aziz Yakubu scores to propel Estoril Praia to next stage of Portuguese Cup

Ghanaian youngster Abdul-Aziz Yakubu was on target for GD Estoril Praia as they beat Rio Ave FC to advance to the next stage of the Portuguese Cup on Tuesday.

Estoril recorded a 2-1 victory over the Portuguese top-flight side at the Estadio do Rio Ave.

Yakubu opened the scoring for the second-tier club as early as the 14th minute to put the visitors in front.

Andre Filipe Cunha Vidigal netted the second goal of the encounter in the 31st minute before the hosts drew one back through Angolan international Gelson Dala.

Estoril are through to the quarter-finals of the competition with the win.

Yakubu, 22, has now scored 10 goals in 17 matches in all competitions in the 2020/2021 season Estoril.
