Ghanaian youngster Ahmed Awua reveals how he is coping without football in Italy

Parma youth player Ahmed Awua remains relentless over  his ambition of becoming a great footballer in future despite the suspension of football in Italy, one of the hardest hit country by the current coronavirus pandemic. 

The sports industry has been punctured by the pernicious spread of the novel Coronavirus across the world. Football and other sporting events such as the NBA have all been suspended.

Italy has recorded over 12,000 cases and more than 630 deaths from the outbreak of the deadly virus.

Ahmed Awua plays for Parma in the Primavera division and has been sharing how he’s been coping during this hiatus in the league.

“We are currently going through a difficult time in Italy. It's not just the suspension of the league, but the rapid spread of the Virus which has culminated in the entire country being in lockdown. It’s not a pretty situation at all," he told ArthurLegacy.com

"I'm not allowed to go out and train, but this situation also gives me an opportunity to do a few things, like reading, helping my parent's and watching movies to refresh the mind.

”I'm focused on my aim and that is to become a great footballer so as the league is on lockdown, I watch some videos of the best footballers and also read the history of football and lifestyle of some great footballers like Pirlo, Alves, Ronaldo and others.

"I train at home, we have some materials for training so I trained every day to get myself ready when the league starts.

“I think the government took the right decision to suspend all sporting activities, because we need to protect ourselves and the game. We have to understand that the Coronavirus is no respecter of persons. Currently, there are reports athletes and well known personalities contracting the virus."
