Ghanaian midfielder Aminu Abdallah got off the mark in Canada by scoring for Vancouver Whitecaps FC Reserves in a 1-1 draw against University of Washington Huskies.

On 31 minutes, Abdallah opened the scoring off of a pass from rookie Kekuta Manneh, while Omar Salgado had the second assist.

In the 68th minute, Caleb Clarke had a chance to increase the Blue and White’s lead after Greg Klazura’s cross fell into the box, but the young Canadian international’s header went ff the post and out.

Just minutes later, in the 72nd minute, the Huskies scored to equalize when midfielder James Moberg stole the ball and shot it into an open net to level the match at 1-1.

Abdallah, on trial, lasted the entire duration for Whitecaps but Gershon Koffie was replaced before the start of the second half by Bryce Alderson

The Whitecaps FC Reserves will take on Colorado Rapids Reserves on Tuesday, May 7, at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
