Ghanaian youngster Clinton Antwi reveals reason for joining Esbjerg fB

Ghanaian defender Clinton Antwi has disclosed that he joined Esbjerg fB in search of regular play time.

The 20-year-old joins Danish side Esbjerg on a season long loan from rivals FC Nordsjaelland.

Last season, the left-back played 16 games for FCN in the 3F Superliga last season, most of them coming on as a substitute.

"I need playing time in relation to my development, and therefore I am happy with the opportunity I now get in Esbjerg. I look forward to the challenge and my clear ambition is to fight for a place on the team and do my part so that the club can return to the Superliga. I believe this is the right thing for me," he said after completing the loan move.

Antwi starts training on Wednesday, and Sports Director of Esbjerg Jimmi Nagel Jacobsen believes the defender fits into the club's system.

"Clinton Antwi is a really skilled left back who fits well into the style of play that should characterize EfB with power, aggression and speed. At the same time, we get an extremely hungry and ambitious player who will give us flexibility in the back chain from day one, so we are very much looking forward to the upcoming collaboration," said Jimmi Nagel Jacobsen.
