Ghanaian youngster Felix Afena Gyan trained with his club after snubbing an invite to join the Black Stars for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The 18-year-old was invited by Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac for the Black Stars game against Ethiopia and South Africa this week.

The AS Roma youngster  failed to turn up for the call up and the  Ghana FA confirmed he was unavailable for the doubleheader.

According to reports, the handlers of Afena Gyan wante the player to focus on his development under coach Jose Mourinho.

They claim the teenager will need more time to mature and want him to focus on his development at club level.

Afena Gyan has made two appearances for AS Roma since getting promotion to the senior team.

Ghana drew 1-1 against Ethiopia at the Orlando Sports Stadium in matchday five of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars will need to beat South Africa to qualify for the play-offs in the final game to be played at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
