Young Ghanaian forward Henry Addo has won the Israeli Super Cup with his club Maccabi Tel Aviv after overcoming Maccabi Petah Tikva on Monday evening.
The Israeli champions emerged victorious in the Super Cup final after claiming a comfortable 2-0 victory over the Israeli Cup winners to the lift the first silverware of the 2024-25 campaign.
Veteran forward Eran Zahavi opened the scoring of the match to put Tel Aviv ahead after 14 minutes after he was set up by Gabi Kanichowsky.
Tel Aviv sealed the victory to crown new champions of the Super Cup after substitute Matan Hozez put the icing on the cake in stoppage-time at the Bloomfield Stadium.
The 21-year-old Ghanaian was handed a starting role in the match. He lasted 60 minutes after he was substituted by Hozez.
Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Tyrese Asante was introduced in the game in the 61st minute as he marked his debut for Tel Aviv after joining from ADO Den Haag this summer.
Addo made just a single appearance for Tel Aviv in the past season after joining them from MSK Zilina in the winter transfer. He is expected to make an impact in the upcoming season.
